I hope that Soderberg isn't the only acquisition Peter makes this month. I don't feel comfortable putting the lack of secondary scoring all on the shoulders of Soderbergs debut (if it happens). He is playing well in the SEL and torching the league, but who knows as to whether that production will translate to the NHL.

Was really disappointed to see the lack of killer instinct from the Bruins last night during that 3rd. They let the Leafs hang around and put the game closer than it should have been. In the end we won which was good, it puts more separation between us and the Leafs in the standings.

Would Soderberg have to clear waivers to join the Bruins? Something similar to the O'Reilly rule?

Does anyone know how that would work?

I think because he's already their property he won't have to go through waivers or something along those lines

Oh hey look guys ... BD is making a hilarious joke about Colin Campbell as though it's relevant! His material is so fresh!

Wish there was a bit more of an explanation on that link

Not sure I see the difference between him and the O'Reilly situation as both would have played after the Jan19 deadline

There isn't a difference which is why the Avs could get O'Reilly without clearing waivers. Just like ROR was Avs property, Soderberg is Bruins property. If through some method Soderberg were contracted by another team he would have to clear waivers.

This is more like signing an unsigned draft pick mid way through the season and bringing him in.

soderberg sounds like he could play left wing on the 3rd line. call me intrigued.

Rumor has it Campbell has backed off helping the Bruins somewhat, because he wants to see if they can win a cup without his help.

Seems like thats the plan. Caron will most likely be the stop-gap until he arrives.

I'm not sold on Soderberg being the go to guy yet. He's put up solid numbers in the SEL but who knows how his skill set will translate to the NHL. Still think Chiarelli needs to pick up a winger just in case.

They said it wouldnt be their only move, but who know. Isnt horton in a contract year? Would they consider moving him and upgrade the top line? Seems they offer long term deals to the players they want to keep.

I don't think the return for Horton would be that much considering he's up this summer. I think teams know the Bruins will be tight against the cap so I can't imagine Horton getting a player back better than him. Unless of course they sweeten the pot to make Horton attractive.
